Buenos Aires - Jan. 2005 Week 3
At my favorite bookstore, El Ateneo, in a converted teatro on Santa Fe near Callao.

   Sunderland Club, Graham's first milonga.
 A realllllly big ashtray and lunch with Monica and Benjamin.
  Party with Vihn's friends - Lisa, Kitty, and Juan
 Dandi's Milonga - the first milonga for the evening and Paul's and Tim's first ever.
Some milongas are opening and then closing. It is extremely unpredictable.
Rumor was that Gricel opened clandestinely (lights out in front so the club looked closed) and the police still closed it. Also the same for La National. Someone was downstairs at the door checking people and the dancers were warned that if a bell rang the dancers had to sit down immediately while someone recited poetry. Of course the bell was rung and Tim, Paul, Luiza and Pulpo were treated to an hour of poetry before they were sent home. Imagine a roomful of people with their special tango clothes and attire pretending to listen to poetry!
