Focus:  Local Tangueras/os
Back

Steven starting taking Tango lessons about 6 months ago and what makes him unique in my eyes is that he probably attends or has attended every Tango lesson that is given in the area AND he dances in his socks.  He's a joy and his presence in class is focused, committed, and funloving.

Stevie does have a life outside Tango. (do I hear gasps of disbelief?)
He creates harpsichords. Here's a quote from his website, www.lautenwerk.com.

"Steven Sorli creates each instrument individually as a work of art. His aesthetic abilities contribute to a tasteful blend of color and form which add a complementary balance to the tonal shades. The diverse textures adorning his harpsichords are reminiscent of those executed by the masters of old. Mr. Sorli has been the recipient of a craftsman's fellowship grant from the National Endowment for the Arts."

Sabine is one of my best friends and a source of good humor in our community.  She is also the photographer of all the photos of Jackie that have impressed so many visitors to this site.  Sabine will have an Open Studio on Dec. 18th, 2004 from 11 am - 5 pm. She will be showing her black and white documentary photographs taken throughout 2004.  Prints, along with published books, are available for purchase. Visitors will have the opportunity to be photographed by Sabine.

Tsai and Jane

The dynamic duo live in New York's Capital District. He is an engineer and she is an attorney.Besides the usual reasons for loving Tango, Tsai thinks that dancing Tango is just like engineering.
The dancers combine a few basic tango elements, then add
musicality and personal imagination to create a sensual, passionate and magical three minutes moment. Jane and Tsai have been dancing in the tango communities around the Capital District within the tri-state area for several years. Their motto:have milonga will travel (when weather is good). The only note of discord between them is that Tsai would like to dance later but Jane prefers to leave milongas earlier so she can do Ashtanga yoga early next mornings. When they are not working or dancing  tango, you can usually find Jane practicing Yoga at her favourite Yoga studio, knitting a sweater for some lucky person, or preparing a gourmet delight for Tsai, who will be thinking of ways to spoil their three wonderful cats.
