Beijing Visiting
Eli, my nephew, was a fantastic host. We ate so much food.. hot pot, szecheun,
bread, dim sum, pastries.... and didn't eat alot too. Every meal consisted of 5 dishes, one of
which Cory and I could have easily shared.
I was very proud to see that he speaks Chinese fairly fluently
and lives in a Chinese apartment building.
Many of the expats don't speak any Chinese and live in all English
compounds. I met many of his friends and loved them all.
It was great to be the Auntie.
Cory and I wandered off my ourselves and saw the sights and ate too much.
Paul and his mom, Rosie, met us a week after we arrived.

The Great Wall - the less touristy section. It took 1 1/2 hours to get there by taxi. We were up at 6:30am
and managed to beat the crowds. We actually went up by cable car with the attendants.
We walked down and met folks going up the steps ...some women wore heels!!!...
