Aromatherapy And The Power Of Essential Oils

This practice may sound a little complex and difficult to perform, but what would happen if I told you that you could do it anywhere, even at home? Practicing aromatherapy a few minutes a day can bring benefits to your life, and even each aroma and essential oil has its own benefit.

But you may wonder how aromatherapy works through smells? What do you need to do this practice?

Don’t worry today I’ll teach you some easy tricks and I’ll recommend you some basic essential oils, which you can use to start practicing aromatherapy.

To start practicing aromatherapy, the first thing you need to get are essential oils, remember that essential oils are not the same as fragrances.

By inhalation: is the basic method in aromatherapy. It can be direct or not. Scent diffusers are used, if you do not have one you can use a pot with hot water and put 15 drops of essential oil, and you will have the same benefits. This alternative is for airway problems and some skin conditions.

Aromatic baths: this method is ideal for relaxing the body and eliminating stress. If you have a bath you can fill it with hot water and add 25 to 30 drops of essential oil. Remember that a bath with hot water is ideal for circulation and relaxation. If you don’t have a bathtub at home, don’t worry, you can mix everything in a pot and at the end you seal your shower with this bath.

By massage: For this step I recommend mixing the essential oil with an organic coconut oil. Direct contact with pure essential oils can cause a type of allergy or irritation. Massage vigorously or gently, depending on the ailment. This method is ideal for contractures.

To improve sleep: A very useful tip is that if you feel stressed, and you want to relax, you can take an atomizer or a spray, put water in half and then put 15 drops of essential oil, I use the essential oil of lavender, helps me relax and recover my energy, spray it on my bed and pillow before going to sleep. This procedure helps you to start the next day recharged with energy and vitality.

For tired feet: Our feet sometimes feel very sore and tired at the end of a long day. Relieve them by adding a drop of peppermint oil in a foot bath with Epsom salt, this will bring your feet back to life.

Many benefits you didn’t know existed:

  • Multipurpose cleaner: citrus oils are mainly used for their disinfectant properties.
  • Natural insect repellent: for example, you can apply eucalyptus essential oil in the form of a spray.
  • Control pests: use orange or clove essential oil.
  • Purify the air: use an essential oil vaporizer to enjoy the anti-microbial properties of some oils.
  • Treat acne: through topical application of tea tree oil.
  • Hair Health: You can mix a few drops of lavender oil in your shampoo to improve the health of your hair.

Recommended oils for antibacterial and antiviral use: Thyme Oil, Oregano Oil, Rosemary Oil, Sage Oil, Tea Tree and Manuka Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Lemon Oil, Melissa Oil.

Recommended oils to combat anxiety: Pine Oil, Lavender Oil, Orange Oil, Geranium Oil, Cinnamon Oil.

My favorite and not to be missed in my purse: Frankincense Oil. The “King of Oils” because it promotes health in all senses, both physical and emotional. It is an incredibly therapeutic oil for all the systems of your body.

The oldest of all time. It has anti-inflammatory, expectorant, antibacterial and immunostimulant effects, which makes it ideal for supporting the respiratory and immune systems.

It helps meditation, is tonic and sedative for nerves, so it could support in cases of anxiety or stress. For its antiseptic and healing properties, is ideal to support skin treatments, I like to put it in my creams, because it is recommended for blemishes, scars, stretch marks and wrinkles.
